The Explosion of Youth Spending
I mainly like the brands that are really cute and are good looking. I wear a lot of Anchor Blue, Forever 21, H&M, Hollister, Aeropostale, American Eagle, Wet Seal, Pacsun and Vans. I like these brands primarily because they have the cutest clothing and the shoes I wear come from them too. I also wear these brands because they do not come out as expensive as the other stores like, Abercombie & Fitch.
Kids are influenced by Corporate America because they are the ones who advertise everything that they think that kids want. They push the brands on to the kids and convince them that they should be buying their items so they can look good. Corporate America just says these kinds of things so they can make more money by getting more people to buy their products. I think that kids do not know what they want and they have to be told what they want. For that reason, when an ad comes up and it looks interesting, the kids will be interested in purchasing the item. Honestly, mostly everything that I like is truly all by my choice.
In some cases, I really do not care what brand the clothes is. As long as the piece of clothing looks good, then I buy it without caring what store it comes out of. Yes, I do wear most of the clothes that I have already listed more than others, but that does not mean that they are the only clothes that I wear. I do follow most of the trends that come and go, but at the same time, I can purchase it from anywhere and I do not have to be a specific store. I can say that I do get convinced by the ads that are all around us most of the time. If I see a commercial for something that I can actually use, I usually want to go out and buy it. I guess I do get sort of pressured by Corporate America because their ads attract my attention and that is why I go spending money on many things in just one trip to the mall.
